Guests will get to shape the interiors, dining venues and experiences

In an industry first, Celebrity Cruises is inviting passengers to shape Celebrity Xcel, the fifth ship in its Edge Series.

Dubbed Xcel Dream Makers, this community-driven programme lets travellers test, try and vote on the new design and experiences for the ship's inaugural sailing to the Caribbean in November 2025.

The cruise community will have the final say on key elements, including ship design, interiors, culinary offerings and entertainment selections, providing input on everything from textiles to headline shows.

Open to all who wish to join, the initiative will focus on select spaces and seven new onboard experiences with decisions made through online polls and in-person events.

This unique approach allows Celebrity Cruises to tailor the onboard offerings directly to passenger preferences, potentially setting a new standard in the industry for customer-driven design.

“We want to ensure our guests love our products and experiences, so involving them in the process to perfect Celebrity Xcel was a great way to achieve this,” said Michael Scheiner, Chief Marketing and Product Officer of Celebrity Cruises.

The fifth ship in the cruise line’s award-winning Edge Series, the all-new Celebrity Xcel will feature the first tri-fuel capable engine, as well as an expanded rooftop garden that extends over the side of the ship for better ocean views.

Other highlights include a new multi-terraced Sunset Bar, verandah staterooms with retractable glass walls and an exclusive wellness area for suite guests offering private pools and dining.

For its inaugural season in November 2025, Celebrity Xcel will offer seven-night Caribbean itineraries from Fort Lauderdale. In summer 2026, the ship will embark on its European season, with seven- to 11-night Mediterranean journeys departing from Barcelona and Athens.
