Hyatt Place AlUla Hotel will be home to more than 200 rooms, two restaurants and a pool
Hyatt plans to open its first hotel in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, via a management agreement between a Hyatt affiliate and the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU).
The second Hyatt-branded property in the kingdom, Hyatt Place AlUla Hotel will open at the end of 2025.
The hotel will have 215 rooms, two dining venues, a pool, fitness centre and a meeting space, and also offer World of Hyatt members benefits, including room upgrades and late checkout.
Commenting on the project, Ludwig Bouldoukian, Regional Vice President of Development for Middle East and Africa at Hyatt, said: “We are thrilled that this upcoming hotel will provide more choice to our World of Hyatt members looking to explore the culture and beauty of AlUla. We look forward to adding Hyatt Place AlUla to our growing portfolio of properties in the region.”
Hyatt plans to open 50 new hotels worldwide by 2026, including in Saudi, with Miraval The Red Sea, a wellness-focused resort, set to make its debut in late 2025.
Located in a prime location, just 25km from AlUla International Airport, Hyatt Place AlUla Hotel is within easy reach of key attractions, including the 12th-century Old Town and Jabal Ikmah, a mountain surrounded by rocks filled with so many ancient inscriptions, the area has become known as the ‘open air library’.

One of the oldest regions in the Arabian Peninsula, dating back millennia, AlUla is known as the world’s largest living museum, home to historic Nabatean rock formations, ancient dwellings, desert canyons, heritage villages and Saudi’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hegra.
“Hyatt Place AlUla will create jobs for the community and add to the range of accommodation options for tourists and business people,” said Abeer AlAkel, CEO of Royal Commission of AlUla (RCU). “Collaborations with established and knowledgeable operators such as Hyatt support the regeneration of AlUla County and honour its legacy as a hospitable meeting place for people from diverse cultures.”
A rising cultural destination, AlUla is now furnished by luxury hotels, including Banyan Tree AlUla, a desert sanctuary with luxurious tented villas offering private pools, fire pits and expansive desert and mountain views.
The latest resort to open, in December 2024, The Chedi Hegra is built around an old railway station and fort, and offers three restaurants, an outdoor pool and 35 bespoke guesthouses complete with desert views, plunge pools and around-the-clock butler service.
