Airline to become only Middle East carrier flying non-stop to Bogotá and serving Caracas
Qatar Airways is expanding operations to the Americas with the launch of two weekly flights to Colombia (pictured) and Venezuela.
The move makes Qatar Airways the only airline to offer non-stop flights from the Middle East to Colombia and the only carrier from the region operating in Venezuela.
Starting summer 2025, the flights will connect Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha to Bogotá El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Colombia, and then continue to Caracas Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) in Venezuela. The return flight from Caracas will be non-stop to Doha.
Sprawling out at the foothills of the Andes, Bogotá is one of the biggest cities in Latin America, filled with cafes, theatres, colonial architecture, flower markets and museums, and home to a cable car that takes visitors to the top of Cerro Montserrate for incredible city views.

The addition of Bogotá and Caracas to the airline’s network means it now flies to 16 destinations in the Americas, including Miami, New York, São Paulo and Toronto.
“As the first airline to offer non-stop service from the Middle East to Colombia and the only Middle Eastern carrier flying to Venezuela, we are creating new opportunities to connect people, cultures and commerce,” said Qatar Airways Group CEO Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer.
The airline will operate Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on the route, with 42 Business Class seats and 234 in Economy.
Also starting in summer, Qatar Airways is resuming operations in Malta with four weekly flights from 2 July. This will further expand the airline’s network to nearly 50 European destinations.
Qatar Airways won the ‘World’s Best Airline’ for an unprecedented eighth time at the 2024 World Airline Awards from Skytrax, and flies to more than 170 destinations worldwide through its Doha hub, which was also named World’s Best Airport in 2024 by Skytrax.
